Things to do..

Blairsville and the North Georgia Mountains offer lots of interesting and fun things to do. A few are listed below.

 

Brasstown Bald Mountain and Visitors Information Center  -  The summitt offers a panoramic view of four states from Georgia's highest elevation of 4.784 feet. Exhibits and presentations depict the natural history of the area. There are hiking trails and picnicking.

The Appalachian Trail - Hiking for the everyone on this 2,100 mile trail that jorneys through 14 states. The trail can be accessed in the North Georgia area from Woody Gap on Georgia Highway 60 near Suches,Heel Gap on US Highway 19/129, 14 miles south of Blairsville and at Hog Pen Gap on Georgia Highway 348 15 miles southeast of Blairsville.

Butternut Creek Golf Course - 18 hole championship course in Blairsville. They also have tennis courts open to the public.

Union County Courthouse - Located on the historic town square in Blairsville  it was built in 1899 and has been restored. It host a museum and displays exhibits that reflec the culture of the area as well as documents the life of famous citizens including Georgia's poet laurent, Byron Reece.
